Gareth Edwards, the director of Jurassic World Rebirth, has finally spoken about the possibility of another sequel.
The 2025 film, starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey, is now playing successfully in theaters throughout the world.
Even if the current picture opened up new options for the franchise's future, Edwards stated that he always saw this project as a solo film with no more entries.
During an interview with ScreenRant's Liam Crowley, he stated, "Maybe there is something in there. But no, we attempted to produce this film as a single standalone."
According to him, sequels and trilogies leave creators with only one question in their minds: "How do we now make the others?"
Gareth stated, "I've honestly never discussed it with anyone. There has been no communication regarding a sequel with David Koepp, Frank Marshall, or Universal.
"I believe everyone is like (knocks on wood), all they want is for people to enjoy this picture and for us to produce the greatest film we can. Everything else is in the lap of the gods," he added.
Jurassic World Rebirth has grossed $250 million internationally since its premiere.
