Ed Sheeran temporarily dabbled in a new professional path when he filled in as a substitute teacher at a Brooklyn public school.
After showing the pupils how to use looper pedals in a music class, the Sapphire vocalist sang a corny song about cleaning one's teeth.
Sheeran told presenter Julian Shapiro-Barnum at the start of the online series Celebrity Substitute that he thought the day would "either go really well and you’ll be like, ‘That was great,’ or it’ll really fail and you’ll get a lot of clicks."
After introducing the children to the loop machine, the Grammy winner began the lesson with an acoustic rendition of Photograph.
Each of them contributed a sound in turn; some played saxophones, some sung, and some simply made crazy noises.
The classroom eventually transformed into Sheeran's makeshift performance, during which he and the youngsters sang the song "I woke up one day, I brushed my teeth."
Sheeran continued, "I'm brushing my teeth, I'm brushing my teeth, oh yeah," as the song came together.
At the conclusion of the study session, the Shape of You vocalist received an A for classroom management and sharing some musical knowledge.
Sheeran's Loop Tour, which will accompany his recently released album Play, is scheduled to begin in December 2026 after his successful visit.
