Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, Jennifer Aniston's alleged stalker, has been deemed mentally incompetent to stand trial.
On Thursday, the Friends actress was not present when psychiatrist Dr. Phani Tumu declared Carwyle "currently incompetent to stand trial."
However, Deputy Public Defender Robert Krauss informed Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Maria Cavalluzzi that the stalker, who is suspected of driving his car into the front gate of Jennifer's Bel Air house, was seeking a "second opinion."
With another hearing scheduled for next week, the judge has appointed Dr. Kory Knapke, a second psychiatrist, to examine Carwyle.
He is charged with one felony count of stalking and another of vandalism, as well as an aggravating circumstance of being a probable cause of serious bodily injury.
Carwyle has been in detention since May 5, when the incident at Jennifer's house happened.
He has also been accused of harassing the Morning Show actress by sending "unwanted social media, voicemail, and email messages" since March 2023.
Although Jennifer was at home at the time of the incident, she had no contact with anyone. According to a public information officer from the Los Angeles Police Department, "There was a security guard on premises who was able to detain that suspect until officers arrived, at which time they took him into custody without incident." Jennifer Aniston, the resident, was home at the time.
